I read that David was the one who actually wrote the little speech about all of the similarities of the two doctors and he thought of the line of "you were my doctor"...am I the only the one who found that adorable?

You could actually see David's eleven-year-old self melting as they filmed!
I love how in the new series, every one who works on Dr Who is such a major fan of the old show, but everything in this special amplified that fanboyishness thousandfold. The way the writers and the director, not to mention David, were just gushing over the fact they had a Doctor back really came through in the finished product; and even though it wasn't an "episode" as such, that energy has made it one of my favorites!
