  • These elevators could not have been installed in 1923. The Waldorf Astoria did not open till around 1931-1933. The original Waldorf Astoria Hotel was demolished for the construction of the Empire State Building which opened in 1931.

  • @theenforcr55576 Installed around 1930. It was constructed between 1929 and 1931.

  • L is the lobby, which this place has 2 of them interestingly, because in 1931 when this place opened, wives would wait in the sub-lobby and the husbands settled the hotel bill in the main lobby. G is ground.

  • I have no clue where your getting these were installed in 1923, these were installed in 1930/31. And I think the moderization was early 1990's. These looked the same in 2001, so definitely before then.
