http://www.synergy-athletics.com - Two exercises we tried out on the first day - thick bar supine rows and bodyweight wrist rollers. Since then we have plenty more. The bar cost me $35 to make. Great for grip and forearm training.

Want more serious training - check out our training manual - Bull Strength - at http://www.bullstrength.com

  • nice one. myself im using something similar. the only question i have: why make it so thick and therefore difficult to hold with your hands to hold? the only benefit over normal barbel i can see here is that the forearms get involved. but is that meant as forearm exercise?

  • @pinio108 You got it. The increased thickness with create more tension in the arms and back during this exercises - starting with the forearms.

  • @pinio108 it actully helps you build your arms more coz you have to grip and keep hold of the grip as tight as you can getting your muscel working fully till they burn like crazy

  • Please tell how u made it.

  • @jhashey ok, but than again the forearms probably get tired before your back does... myself i would probably keep this one as back (lat or upper section, depending on plane of motion) exercise, and make it harder only by adding resistance - weighted rucksuck or plates placed on chest. however, i can see potential benefits of this and different pullups, done with such thick bar, ie for rock climbers?

  • The person talking in the video sounds Irish...

  • Thats awesome! How did you make it?

  • wood cylinder fence poles r good and come in various sizes
