I use the end of a twelve gauge barrel still has the bead sight,,, its short enough that it dont go past my joint on my little finger,, tube screamer and humbuckers gets a good sound,,
put the slide on little finger so you can still use other fingers,,

I have a 1964 FB in mint condition. I hardly ever take it out of the case anymore. The only thing that is not original is someone that owned it before me put a tele neck pickup in it. Not sure why. Its a fun guitar to play.

@gbluesrocker No, he also plays some slow blues in standard tuning and does a great job. I have a recording and if I remember what it is wIll give you the name.
