Video of various Tamaskan dogs. The TDR (Tamaskan Dog Register) is the official governing body of the Tamaskan breed. When you buy a Tamaskan puppy/dog do not accept a dog not registered with the TDR. Anything else is not DNA tested or a guaranteed Tamaskan dog. We are the wolf dog without the wolf. We are not Tamaskan wolf dogs as that is misleading.

  • is rightpuppy kennel a good place to get one? they seem to always have pups....

  • @Maddytomtom I think you answered your own question. "they always seem to have pups..." What kind of Kennel "Always has pups?"

  • As far as I am concerned, keeping a real wolf is a crime against nature. I think the tamaskan breed is the perfect answer to wanting your own wolf without putting a wolf in a world it dosn't belong in.

  • Theres no wolf in Tamaskans. x)

  • I feel in love with this breed when I had a pair come to one of my training classes. Lobo and his half sister Tammy were amazing dogs, and I still love seeing them, all grown up now. I someday hope to have one now, but only after I get a bigger yard ^^

  • I'm just curious, are they good with small animals (ferrets, birds, rats)? I had an English mastiff who died a month ago and he didn't mind them. I don't care if the dog likes them or not. All he/she has to do is accept their presence. The dog wouldn't always be around them anyway, as my small animals are mostly confined to my room with occasional visits outdoors.

  • @TVSheShe

I'm not too sure if that analogy is accurate.

A lot depends on what type of wolf you are refering to, what season, what climate. When a Tamaskan has a full winter coat in arctic type conditions they have a fabulous coat. A Tamaskan raised in the southern parts of the USA, raised mainly indoors is not going to have the coat of an Arctic wolf. Same goes for a wolf from a tempid climate.

  • @jbannow So your saying that the ruff does get more full like the wolf? I'm not sure if I have seen a picture of a Tamaskan with a ruff as full and shaped as identical to the wolf.

  • i have a 5 month old tamaskan

  • If the ruff was bigger, more full they wold have an almost 100% identical appearance to wolves.
