Was in the USAF stationed in Germany. Was in East Anglia during Falklands War and went to Spain and ended up watching Argentina- Hungary play in Alicante after a few days in Benidorm. Didnt play up that I was an American all that much. It was a blast.

If only we had had Cloughie in charge we might have got it right and won the thing in 1982 with respect to Ron Greenwood.

Great tune,bad shirt!
Wow. 1982. Our first World Cup in years. We were 6 teenagers (just) and we bunked the train to Spain for the World Cup. The Falklands war was in progress when we left. Liverpool to London, London to Newhaven, ferry to France, train to Paris and finally another train from Paris to Bilbao. When we won the group we got another train to Madrid, and then we had a 6 day wait for our next game so hundreds of England fans got the midnight train to Alicante and the Orange Express to Benidorm. Brilliant!!
