I cannot start to speak of how astounding this work is with its tonality, modulations and atmosphere. I regard this as Mozart's greatest solo keyboard work. Anyone who has not heard this doesn't know or understand Mozart. A truly revolutionary work with such passion, emotion and yearning. Again, I cannot begin, but I shall continue to merely listen and speculate on this brilliance.

"the phrases are symmetrical as one could wish, but the abrupt, poignant changes of harmony destroy all the stability of the tonic, creating instead a mysteriously expressive atmosphere" (Charles Rosen)

@Madflyhalf i agree, listen to that modulation at 5:25 or so, beethoven definitely uses that kind of technique a lot in all his piano composition (from what i can hear)

Every note is so perfect! Her interpretation makes me feel how Mozart felt. It gives me a sad and happy feeling.
What influence this music had upon Beethoven, especially his "2nd period" (1800-1814)!
This is the basis of those composition of LvB, showing how far Mozart was looking to!

Every note is puuurfect. Mitsuko Uchida is already one of the greatest pianist of the 20th. Cent. She I am sure she will be held with the same regard at the end of the 21st Cent.
