Shure Associate Michael Johns introduces the new Shure professional line of headphones at MusikMesse 2009 including the SRH240, SRH440 and SRH840 models. (16x9)
@nackforsweets The 440's are great for everyday listening. The bass sounds great and the highs and mids sound amazing as well. The 840's have an extended frequency response so you can probably hear better bass and highs. If you're going for the 840's you should also check out Beyerdynamic dt700 headphones. They have a frequency response of 5-35,000 and block out a good amount of noise. Btw, the 440's are unmatched in their price range.
The 840's will make you listen for hours and hours :-)
The sound gives the impression of fullness. A sense of scale. And the bass response is the most faithful of any headphones I've ever listened to. They nailed it with this one.
Hahaha, once you have these, you kinda beging to look at poeple with Beats as idiots!
I can't decide between the 440 and 840. Do the 440s 'reveal' or 'produce' flat frequencies? My perception is that the 440 is honest, but the 840 makes the music sound better - am I right? I'm planning to use my headphones for BOTH mixing AND everyday listening. I need to make sure I EQ my bass and treble right but I don't want to have the music I listen to daily sound slightly duller with a neutral pair of headphones. Suggestions? :(
I got the Denons but taking them back my M-audio can't handle them as my maudio drives 75 ohms I think . Anyways would these work on my m-audio 410 firewire ? I can't find the specs for these headphones ! Help please ! My Maudio with Denon D5000 sound good , but the sounds like leads sound far in the back so its hard to mix on them !

No
The SE530 is Shure's best product, the SRH440 and 840 are great but not as accurate as the SE530.
Best buy being the SRH440, an absolute winner for the price.

What does "tracking" mean? Is a "tracking headphone" the headphone given to the performer when you're recording in the studio?
