"The Seaport Soul Series"
celebrating Deep House, Latin, Soul & World Music
at NYC's South Street Seaport - Pier 16

The Seaport Soul Series will offer the most vibrant music of the global dance community. Some of the best DJ's from the House, Latin and World Music Scenes will play infront of the stunning background of the harbor. Come dance to the music and energy that makes Manhattan sizzle and be part of the Big Apple's soulful celebration during this Thursday summer series. Experience the magical sounds with a spectacular view of the Brooklyn Bridge which is having a birthday party this year as it turns 125 years old!

REDness has been a fixture in New York's underground dance music scene since the late 1980's. She has promoted various parties throughout the years and worked with DJs such as Louie Vega, Francois K., Danny Krivit, Joe Claussell & Brian Coxx making her a force to be reckoned with! She is Promoter/Co-Host of the popular weekly House Dance event, Soulgasm NYC as well as Co-Founder of House Dance International (housedancenyc.com) and event which draws dancers from around the world. Recently launching her own website (theREDness.com), RED is a mover and shaker - watch for her in a city near you!

A Native New Yorker of Dominican decent, Joann's sensibility of various cultures has allowed her to produce groundbreaking events within the Latino, Caribbean, Brazilian and art/dance communities for over six years now. The stars were all in her favor when her first involvement in the music industry was with the legendary party Body and Soul in 1998. Her affiliations include Francois K's. music label Wave Music and Deep Space. After her first trip to Brazil in 2004, she along with DJ True and Miller Cruz started a monthly event called ALMA NYC (myspace.com/almanyc), later accompanied by Manchildblack. Later, getting back to her more intimate roots, Joann co-foundeded her next endeavor, a Latin party celebrating Afro-Latin soul called RAZA (myspace.com/razanyc) which has been happening now for over a year. She continues to reinvent herself as she brings her personal flair to this musical life style! You can read up more on her at: myspace.com/joann_jimenez.

The South Street Seaport has historically been New York's gateway to the world. In that tradition, the soul series will offer musical samplings as diverse as the city itself!
