@emperorcolt Im sure you didnt get my comment in the right way. Im not talking about performance, im talking about the entertaining point of view from a normal spectator.
Todays F1 cars are like gaming consoles comparing to the turbo era or earlier post-turbo models. Driving cars with 1200hp+ with manual gearbox and primitive aerodynamics were much more challenging. Not to mention the noise of the turbo V6, V12 and V10. I still watch Formula 1 bcause I love F1. But F1 is dying.

@RyckardPT Today's F1 cars don't come even close to this ?? how did you arrive at that !?!?! today's cars produce significantly faster lap times despite being about 300-400hp down in power output ? give me today's cars over these relics anytime. The racing was great back then and it's great now. 20 years will undoubtably produce a lot of change !

This makes me cry, not only bacause they are beautiful and they sound amazing but also todays formula 1 cars dont come even close to this animals. Why why why why??!

The "Honda-RA121E" V12 of 1991 and the "Ferrari Tipo 043" V12 of 1994 was the best sounding engines!
Very different though...the Honda had a deep, crisp, hollow roar, while the Ferrari more high pitched, almost whining in a very scary, but trilling way!
But I wonder how much of it has to do with the exhaust?! Ex. the Renault and Lotus team today run the same engine, but VERY different exhaust systems and sound completely different?!

Both sound great but Im going to choose the Williams V6 Turbo this time. I just LOVE that deep sound.

McLaren V12 sounds like a DEMON'S ORGY inside...
Any car of the Golden Era brings tears to my eyes... I could watch this 24/7, just like in the 80's and 90's.
