There's a lot of Viet Nam vets like Tom who have no money. I helped out one some years ago who was living in the park in one of the coldest winters with plenty of snow. I gave him shelter and got him a job. But he died a couple of years later from diabetes. They amputated both his legs. Tom is not stupid. He's promoting himself for the money because he's tired of living poor.
What I don't understand is why so many are making him a hero for doing what anyone should do.
