Me and my mates went travelling in Southeast Asia for 2 months and i recorded some cool moments. Shot on a Canon HV30, occasionally with an SGpro and 28mm/50mm. Hope you enjoy :)

  • yep im still in love with this footage! haha

  • @greengreen61 :D! Check out my new video, it's a montage of footage from my travels and my other work. :)

  • this is incredible! Love your shots and editing! Very inspirational. A few questions :) Have you/going to study film/tv? if so where? and what programme did you use to edit this on? Im terrible when it comes to editing...absolutly no knowledge on it- ive used final cut pro...and im totally not a pro on it haaa

  • @greengreen61 Thanks! I am going to Leeds met later this year to study film production, only because I don't really know what else to do :D. And I edited this on premiere pro cs4. I kinda wish I learnt final cut pro but I have heard they are quite similar.

  • I think those profile shots really capture the mood, and I'm guessing those were shot with the SGPro. (From 1:39 and scattered through about 2:13) By the way, did you color correct at all?

  • @CrypticWarfare actually every shot from 1:39- 2:13 was shot with an SGpro. i colour graded the footage with magic bullet looks

  • @CrypticWarfare well I took a backpack with me as well as proper travel backpack. I didn't bring rails and I barely used the sgpro so I hardly took it out with me. Most of these shots are shot on a stock hv30 and only a handful with the SGpro.

  • Great! Thanks for the reply. Sorry, for another question, but I was curious as to how you travelled around with your hv30 and SGPro. It seems like you were able to keep it all handheld as you moved around, and I was just curious. Thanks again, and once more great video!

  • @CrypticWarfare thanks for your comments :) yeah they are just film burn/light leak stock footage i applied with a transfer mode in ae. you can get them on the internet quite easily.

  • Forgot to mention I love the warm colored flashes here and there, I see those all the time, and they work well here. Any chance you'd be able to explain breifly how that's done, or point me in the right direction?
