I also included a little bit of HEART OF THE SUNRISE at the beginning here , since it was on the same chapter where ROUNDABOUT begins. I noticed that someone gets sort fo lost with the beat early on in this clip. Chris and Trevor seem to feel it coming in advance. And when it gets there, Trevor looks up toward Alan White, possibly thinking to himself ( or telepathically to Alan)
" Hey, Between Chris and I , you've gotta over 12 feet 8 inches of potential whoopass down here waiting for you to get on the ball before we have to come up there and go all Pete Townshend on you and your kit"! HAHAHAH Just kidding! Alan WHite rarely misses a beat, so maybe it was one of the stagehands causing the problem, and not an actual member of YES.
Nice seats in the South Terrace section, about 20 rows back and tucked right up off to the side of the orchestra. THe Greek is a terrific place to see a concert..and when it is a band like YES performing, some extra cosmic vibes are sent down courtesy of Griffith Park Observatory and they generally bless the proceedings with an added sense of
cosmikickassticity that carries over into video cameras and dat recorders, if any happen to be present. I am glad there was for this show. I thought the volume levels were a little less than normal at this gig ( possibly due to some promotional gimmick where a person could bring in a Walkman Radio and listen to the show simulcast.. so maybe the sound levels were brouight down for their added pleasure). I never really understood the concept very well. I was thinking at the time.."Who in the Hell would go to a Rock Concert so that they could put on headphones and listen to it on a walkman"?!?
Well some folks did, actually. And come to think of it, this video could have been even cooler if a Walkman w/ Recording capabilities was plugged into the camcorder.
Oh well..live and learn.
From what I recall, this is a Rare Yessvid, I only met a handful of Yessnuts who had it or got it from me or my friend , Mike. It is only the 2nd set, and runs about 90+ minutes or so. The picture is still pretty darn good and the sound is pretty nice. This should appeal to fans of Trevor Rabin- Era YES. Nice view and zooms. ENDLESS DREAM
should be on here pretty soon, as well. That's a long song. First , I will wait and see how this does. At my first youtube Channel, Rabin-Era YES did Very Well with Yessfans, in general. My new channel is not taking off with the same amount of Vavoom that my "frembling" channel did.
Hopefully this will add some octane to get things rolling along in fine, progressive fashion. I miss a lot of the regular viewers I met at the other channel. This is not quite as nice as Jones Beach ( Talk Tour), but it is similar in ways. And the pic here doesn't blur outta focus due to bright lighting, like Jones B does. Enjoy the clip..and Happy Thanksgiving.
This is Jim Myers.... or you can call me by my sometimes alter ego .. Mr.Yes. ( cool Yessynonym)
signing off for tonight...J/M.

  • 10:48 to 10:53 and it's a flyyyy ball. oops guitar! LOL!

  • @arweiss100 Hi Arlene, Later this evening, I am going to redo the vhs of this onto DVD. For some reason, part ofo my first try at this came out distorted. So I will do it again and will post more from this show. I am glad you like it. it is totally rare footage and you'll see some Trevor that you've never seen before. ENDLESS DREAM ( in 2 parts) will likely be next on here. I am glad that Yessfans responded well to this video.

It's actually quite good all-around. Thanks, JIM.

  • @arweiss100 Actually, it is going to be CINEMA and CITY OF LOVE which will be posted next from this vid. I just re-recorded the video onto dvd and these are the first two tracks ( at the beginning of the 2nd set). I might end up inching my way up toward ENDLESS DREAM, as there are several neat songs before it. Will let you know asap..I have 'Cinema' uploading as I type this. Thanks, JIM.

  • @arweiss100 hahaha!

  • @CTLACTR Yuliya, if you look to the far left on the side of the stage standing in the wings is Trevor's guitar tech..who this time, thankfully catches Trevor's Strat! Unlike way back that time when the neck snapped off when Trevor's tech at that time was also supposed to catch it but didn't. Being Trevor's guitar tech is like being in baseball...skill as a great catcher! LOL! Just kidding!

  • At the end of the song Trevor threw his guitar again...

  • Happy Thanksgiving Jim & Thanks! Love the audience cheering onerwhelmingly for Trevor & the band as they finish up Heart Of The Sunrise @ 3:21. I always have preferred Trevor's take on Roundabout..he plays it with a lot of exuberance, & wonderfully imbues R&B funky flavor that really adds to its vitality & vibrance.
