Solo Flight - DA-20 - Take-offs / Landings

Flying a Diamond DA-20 Solo. At the time I was a student pilot, with a mere 25 hrs under my belt, 6 of it solo. In this video, I taxi, run-up, take-off, and land. More videos will follow with 45° banks, stalls, slow-flight, etc... (UPDATE: I'm now a PPL!)

When truing the aircraft in mid air, do you use both the rudder and ailerons?

@scvs2 Anytime you begin a bank movement, rudder is necessary to stay coordinated (otherwise the plane does a sliding or slipping motion). Once the bank is establishing and stabilized you don't need to keep the rudder in (most cases).

I did all my Private training in the da-20, i have flown the da-40 and the da-42 also and nothing beats them. Nice video

No, for some reason when the video was spliced...the engine noise created an artifact...doesn't exist in the original video.

The visibility is so much better in Diamonds than in Cessnas.

I had my first flight training in a DA-20 yesterday. Let me tell ya, it's harder to fly than it looks. I loved it though. I'm so excited to become a Pilot, I just have sooo much to learn.

Same here! You can't beat FADEC and gear that can extend during at any airpseed. Use those suckers as airbreaks!

@br1ancrowell I know, right? I just flew a da20 and fell in love with it! I currently have about 15 hours, and I was looking for an "old" katana for training, and the cheapest one I cound find was $95000 :'/ ah well, the good old 172 will do for now
