people aren't felons. felonys are a charge that is punishable by 1 year or more. millions do probation as a blackmale deal by prosicuters to make life long civil death slaves for corporate america. not one day in jail but so dangerous that ya can't own a gun for life? come on people wake up. In utah, if it was a non violent felony and you've had a spotless record since, you can apply to expunge your 3rd and 2nd degree felonies after 7 years . Then you can petition to have your civil rights back. I think this is fair.

I am a convicted felon because i sold acid when i was 18. I am 34 now and I have a stellar record also. they won't give pardons in Maine. I just want a rifle, I own my own farm, no kids live with me, why can't i own a gun for protection? I'll tell you what, if there is a financial collapse or riots in the streets then the laws no longer apply.

@SouthronComfort im really sorry to hear that happened to you that is the worst case scenario. I heard of a case back in the 90's where bank robbers made a lady rob a bank with an unloaded gun and I think the president actually pardoned the robbery since she was forced to commit a robbery. In your case I would try to find any evidence or even find a way for the police to interview the person or I would continue with the governor meet him in person because that is a terrible thing for a record.
