  • just look at all those braindead traitors sitting behind gordon brown there sitting behind a man who sold there country down the river and not to mention but the next generation in dept and the way they man handled that man was outrageous i hope he sued those Labour bastards it seems they have there own SA group.

  • Gordon Brown as Prime Minster was simply an unmitigated fucking disaster !

  • @eddiebruv So why vote for the party that started it?

Actually that's a very silly view of liabilities. By your logic we should include every public sector worker's salary or their minimum redundancy settlement (whichever is smaller) as debt. We would also have to factor in NATO commitments, which would be an absolutely absurd approach. The measurements of debt that are used have been fully agreed under the Maastricht Treaty. Which party was in power when we signed that?

  • @slimes23 Of course PFI was started under the Tories, but Labour embraced it with great fervour. Debt is debt. It all has to be paid back. It all counts. We have to include ALL liabilities as they must be underwritten now and this gives a truer picture of the countrie's financial position. To do otherwise is near-enough fraud on a grand scale. To allow the government to pretend that we have lower than actual commitments is madness; to actually spout the same nonsense ourselves is unbelievable!

  • @eddiebruv

PFI was started under the Tories and if we include PFI liabilities (which we shouldn't) we must also include the pre-1997 crown garauntees. PFI liabilities are very different to regular debt as they're commitments instead of borrowed money.

  • @slimes23 You have fallen for the Blair/Brown method of false accounting. Their use of PFI is a sham which gives the public future debt which does not show-up 'on the books', so to speak. Why do you think it costs £1000 pounds to put up a shelf in a hospital? These are part and parcel of contracts which we are stuck with for 30 years. Unfortunately, the current regime is unlikely to stop PFI use.

  • @eddiebruv Actually until the recession, the PSBR/PSNCR was lower year on year under Labour than it was in 1996-97. And during the recession Cameron was unable to explain how he would avoid the borrowing at that time. He also committed while Leader of the Opposition to match Labour's spending plans.

  • @bristolmodtv175 Don't be thick. Anyone doing this at a David Cameron speech would also be removed. If he believed in democracy he would get elected to office instead of shouting at politicians.

  • Fuck you conservatives.
