My wife who was born in Marigot, SM, is thinking on getting me relocating from Arizona, USA to her homeland to start a Computers business. My question is, do people handle arthritis pain if they live on this island? Where is it better to live, on the center side of the island, or on the beach areas? :) What is the humidity like? Is it worst summer vs. winter? I want to thank you - whoever you are that posted this video. Great job... It's so scary, but same time full of adventures. Thank you...

@philster61 I'm sorry to hear about your friend. It's understandable that you would be angry. It happened on the Dutch side of the island I take it? I know that the law enforcement is much stricter on the French side, and crime is higher on the Dutch side. Again I'm sorry to hear about your friend.

@scuddiver Hi Scudiver. I know. I posted that after I found out that a friend of mine had bee stabbed to death in St Maarten. I was angry when I posted that. Very understandably angry. I know St Maarten is a beautiful place and I loved it when I was there. But the news about my friends murder just put a sour taste in my mouth.

@philster61 really? there is crime everywhere, and it's not a culture. the only crime there is maybe petty theft, which is very low compared to the US. There are at least 3 different cultural influences on the island.

There is only one culture on this fucked up island. Crime

thanks, that helped a ton!

i am doing a project on st.martin and i was just wondering what kind of clothes do they wear there...like do they have a national costume!?!?
thx
I'm not aware of a national costume. Because it's warm and breezy year round, the people were light clothing, loose fitting (for men especially). Professional women are very well dressed. Outside work you do see an African influence. I think in my video you see a couple examples of that. School kids are were uniforms. Hope this helps some. Good luck with your project.
