  • This is such a sweet video! Ever since I read the book, "A Seal Called Andre" years ago as a little girl, the harbor seal has been my favorite animal. Are there any other harbor seals near that area that like to interact with people?

  • @jfkjrlover This is the only seal I know of that interacts. She has been coming to the fuel dock in friday harbor every morning for 15 years +

  • I love how Popeye splashes the water when you tell him good morning; was that his way of greeting you or was he telling you to get on with it and give him fish? Also, is he a wild animal that shows up daily like Flipper, or is he actually your pet?

  • Hi,

Popeye is very spoiled and gets impatient when you do not throw fish. She was splashing the water to demand more fish. She is a wild animal. She has been showing up at the fuel dock in friday harbor,wa every morning at 8:00 am for about 15 years.

  • what breed is iris, looks almost like a wild cat like an ocelot.

  • Iris is a Bengal cat. It is a cross between an asian leopard cat and short haired tabby. In other words, a farm cat with fancy pajamas

  • @captainkruse amazing

  • @Lupos1987 duh! no wonder.... "she" is angry callin "her" male-name :PP

  • Could. Not. Be. More. Adorable. But also, the cat gets to be a cat (playing with the fish, purring, being inquisitive but cautious) and the seal gets to be a seal - feed me now, human underlings! Juvenile sea lions can be insanely playful and goofy with humans, including those in the water with them; nice to see how sharp an older seal can be re: how to get food from us suckers. Lovely to see the airborne feline interacting with a very different, if also seafood-loving, mammal.

  • i wonder how would that seal react if a human swims along with her ??

  • I just went to Friday Harbor and ended up feeding Popeye 36 herring with my mom and sister, lol she is so cute!!! We all fell in love with her!

  • I'm thinking they look related... look at their coats!

  • cute seal! I added it to my favorites!
