Our department, you have to gear up, SCBA working in two minutes or else you're not hired. Nice work man.

@fyrstan-- if you lafd guys actually worked like a real union (since you are UNION firefighters) then you would join the lafd instead of being "selected" by the city. but the general lafd union membership decides to be a bunch of pussys and give in to management and brown nose their way to promotions. try putting your big headed egos aside and act like a real union! look at what your elected union officers do for you and realize that your huge salary is fought for and protected by the UNION!!

Hey buddy....you don't get to join...you get selected through a hiring process, tower and probation. Your chances go up 50 % when you actually put in an application.

So I have always wanted to join a big city Fire Department. And I plan on joining either LAFD or FDNY. I just don't know which one! HELP!
