I was lucky to find this just before the England vs US match today. I think this is very appropriate for the circumstances... On the eve of the World Cup, Slate V offers tips on how to juice up soccer telecasts for an American audience.

In some US Football games, I've waited until the second quarter for there to be any scoring.
In real-time, that's nearly a whole game of soccer!
At least if it's a crap game, you only lose 110 minutes of your life.
But there are also brilliant games ... please search for "Liverpool v AC Milan 2005"

My problem with soccer is that it takes too long to score. All they do is run around and kick the ball. It's boring to watch but I think it's fun to play with your play ground buddies.

@91gt306 Lol the score is the last thing soccer fans check, we like to see the battle between the teams trying to score, I recommend u to watch games from la Liga, specially when teams likeBarcelona and real Madrid play

Once I tried to watch a football game and all I saw was fat guys walking around the field in circles then a commercial break, how is that entertaining? Americans don't understand that soccer isn't about the score, it's about the way goals are scored!!!!! Don't you get it?

I'm from USA and i can gladly say that I would never like to watch soccer like this. It's perfect just the way it is. If they added ads during the game, it would drive me crazy.
