When one needs to harken back to those halcyon days of sophistication and savoir faire, no one can make it happen like the late great Henry Mancini. His music was, put simply, romance itself. Hearing this, I'm transported to an outdoor restaurant in Provence with the love of my life ............... forever the love of my life. Thanks very much dear Henry.

Yes very nice, and when Mancini sadly passed away all he got was a 2 minuet news slot on tv in the UK a disgrace.

Hey, can anyone tell me what genre of music this is? Is it classical pop or jazz? And while we're at it, could someone kindly name a couple of artists whose music is similar to Mancini's, cause i'd like to hear a lot more of that.

@MrRoycam I doubt that we will never see an equal for many years to come, along with Lalo Schifrin and John Barry. His compositions and string arrangements are something of legend. Im a gifted muscian, I play many instruments well and can write and produce... but how he created what he did I still dont know.. it is
is spectactular. In many years to come Im suee people will look back at this period as a golden age and wonder how it was all done

Well i had the song on my computer and i wanted to see if youtube had a live performance video or something.. Instead i found out that they didn't even have the original song just a flute orchestra playing the tune.. so i uploaded it myself last week.. 27 views in a week isn't a lot but i'm sure there are many fans out there.. at least there's you and me :)
