As would happen quite often, PBS stations airing omnibus Doctor Who episodes would experience technical difficulties right around the transition between the 2nd and 3rd episodes of a given Doctor Who story. No idea why. This one occured during the Tom Baker story "The Hand of Fear"

  • I wonder why they had to put up the card... it looked like nothing was wrong with the video or audio. How dare they disrespect Doctor Who like that?

  • Where's the cheesy elevator music? I was expecting to a muzak rendition of 'It's Not Unusual' or 'Up, Up, And Away'.

  • More like (P)WNED 17 Amiright?

  • "We will return to this teleplay the moment anything interesting happens. And now, some freinds of mine ..."

  • Or any tune from Bert Kaempfert... :)

  • This happened at WILL-TV in Urbana, IL too! It was always a crude photo, I believe from "The Time Monster" with a lame "Dr Who" caption at the bottom and the theme playing over and over again. They'd use this card regardless of what story was being shown, or which Doctor.

  • Yeah it was City TV that had the Godzilla and the phrase "Not Much is happening we'll be right back."

  • I guess it must have been used on both stations at one point or another, since it was pretty generic. I remember it being used at least once on WNED, though.

  • I think CityTV was the one with the "Godzilla" Technical Difficulties card.
