it really depends on when you go....and the vehicle.....my nissan couldn't make it up test hill on time, but 2 months later, it cruised right up...
Sometimes, the sand just gets really tossed up and soft, and NOTHING short of sand paddles will get ya up

i go to silver lake every year with my sis and its really not that hard to make it up. ya just cant let off like they do. the hills are some much smaller now.
