This is a female patient undergoing CABG under TEA (Thoracic epidural Anaesthesia). We have done almost 560 cardiac cases under thoracic epidural anaesthesia which included all sort of cases, CABG, Valve replacements and congenital heart surgeries. The patients included were as young as 15 years upto 84 year old. I'm a student in the uk and I want to do cardiac surgery as a specialism, I was wondering which grafts do you use, from the video I'm guessing radial arteries, but do you do any others gastro epiploic for example?Also how long on avg are your procedures lasting, in terms of actually making the graft? With the valve replacements are you doing only avr or mvr too? I know you say you use thoracic block for the anaesthesia but I'm guessing vein harvesting is done with another block or local? Thanks

dear ferra,

I use bilateral mamary, bilateral radial & veins as conduits. on an avg 1 hr is conduit harvesting time round about 15 mins per anastamosis & an hour of haemostasis.i have uploaded mvr with chordee preservation video for your ref. at times tea + sedation is not enough & we have to give local for vein harvesting.
