This is a new version which should be a bit better.

By listening to frequency you should be able to determine your age according to many sources. In this video you can listen to 4 frequencies - 8khz, 12khz, 15khz and 17.4khkz and the age group for each shows up as it is playing.

Does it work for you?

You can download more frequencies in various format for free from http://www.tone6.com
History of The Mosquito

Listen to the original frequency of The MosquitoThe history of Mosquito Ring Tone dates back to 2005 when a British inventor by the name of Howard Stapleton came up with an ingenious idea to keep teenagers from loitering outside of shops at night. The idea was meant to drive away teens through ultra high frequency sounds much like how a dog whistle would affect dogs. It was an idea to make the storefront very uncomfortable for the loitering teens while leaving the money spending adult customers unaffected. The product was marketed as an ultrasonic teenager repellent taking advantage of the already well known ultrasonic dog repellent. The product blasts a continuous ear-splitting 17.4KHz sound wave (about the same sound an actual mosquito would make) designed to disperse loitering teens from the storefront while leaving adults unaffected. The MosqutioThe Mosquito, as the product was named, took advantage of a curious medical fact that most adults (and kids) are unaware of. Natural adult hearing loss is particularly acute at higher frequency ranges and most adults can not hear the ultra high frequency ranges after a certain age due to the condition known as Presbycusis.

  • Clear enough for me, and I'm 45 (and a teacher).

  • I played the sound over and over in my computer class when we were having a test, everyone was complaining about it except me, I managed to finish my test and the teacher spent the rest of the day trying to find out what the problem was.

  • @heidtotoe Stop going to hardcore gigs without earplugs

  • That just made my neck hurt & I tried it on my mom & shes 40 she could still hear it also she got mad I called her old

  • OMG IM 18 AND I CAN'T HEAR THE 17 KHZ

  • It's pretty obvious that the second one was not only fake, given the contents of the link, but that there was no sound playing at all. If you have a more current version of Windows, you should be able to check if sound is playing and how loud it's playing. In other words, the little green bar that goes up and down when music plays. Anyways, the green bar appeared for the first sound, but only 2 "flicks" of sound for the second one. Thus, this one is just a trick to get visitors to their site.

  • Thumbs up if you couldn't hear anything
