Here I'm using my sweet japanese Squier Strat '93 with my VOX AD50VT.
For the first half of this video I'm using the "Tweed 4x10" channel of the amp. I'm using RC Booster on medium settings (Gain 9:00, Volume 13:00, Bass 12:00 Tremble 12:00). I also use for a few seconds some chorus and delay that come from my Boss GT8 effects board.
For the second half of the video I'm using the "UK 80s" channel of the VOX. RC Booster is on (same settings as above), Maxon OD808 is on too (Overdrive 9:00, Balance: 13:00, Tone: 15:00).

Sorry for my lame playing again.

Voila....

  • I now realize how awful this sounds...

The camera mic is shit. Sorry for that. It DOES sound better than this, believe me.

  • I just got a '93 mij squier aswell, the neck is amazing. What letter serial does youres carry? Tom

  • Yes, the neck is amazing and I even like the pickups (especially the neck and middle).

    Amazing for this price tag.

The serial begins with a "N" followed by 6 digits. Does this mean anything important?

  • So much gear, so little tone.

  • Normally the letter is a decade code. N : 1990.

The first digit after is what year in the 90´.

    Ex N3 is from 1993.

  • Judas Priest Rulez!

  • Ah, just great :) Nice bluesy tone, I think I am gonna save up for Japanese Squier

Tell me please, is this guitar good for heavy metal and with distortion? :D Thanks

  • How much in euro's is it worth like? I have a Fender Classic Series '50s Telecaster (MIM) and might want to trade it with this MIJ.

  • @pbstratocaster

    for japan fenders/squiers N series is 93/94

  • how would this compare to a MIJ squier strat from 94?

  • virpotaajs..yes its true, i hav 1 too.. JV wif serial no. at neck plate..it is 57' model.. awesome.. black color, 1 pis maple neck.. really Fender twangy tone..cool..

  • Greetings, E prefix serial indicates a build date of 1984 to 1987. For years I was told it was 1984 but I have since found it was used on many models during the Fender transition (84-87)from CBS to the Shultz group. I have one and love mine.

  • Hi! I own a squier strat and I really wanna know how can I tell when was it made? It is from my old man and he has had it for about 25 years (not quite sure one year more or less)... so I'm guessing it should be around 84"... it has a silver squier logo it says stratocaster under that made in japan and udner that by fender... THE SERIAL NUMBER STARTS with E + 6 digit number... well E533159... could you help me out?

  • I played a 87 Squier the other day, and I wouldn't have said it was better than my MIM Fender. It grew on me, but I still wouldn't say it was that much better.

  • ok lol got your answer
