putting them by the fireplace really helps them soak in too!

@erixuk would these go shiny or do they just stay matte? Would they soften the leather too much?

Thanks very much for this video, very informative.

Can I apply dubbin to a leather jacket?

Could anyone tell me if dubbin will take to a pair of boots that have previously been polished. I have a new pair of boots which I have polished twice and then applied dubbin to, however im not sure how much of the dubbin has been absorbed. I am not inerested in polishing them to shine I only want to maintain them well.

Good video. Thank you. I use Carr & Day & Martin Neutral Dales Dubbin. It is excellent stuff.

@MrHaveGun Cheers i will look into those.

@teamcalzaghe - Get a pair of R M Williams elastic sided boots in yearling calf leather, chestnut colour. Protect with dubbin but use this mix on the leather undersole; 1 part boiled linseed oil, 1/2 a part bees' wax and 1/2 a part turpentine.(Boil the linseed oil until solid and waxy like dubbin - if it boils over it will catch alight so do outside on a fire and take off the fire if it looks to boil over).
That's a good idea - thanks.

They have a matt finish, and I think keepiong the leather flexible helps to protect them. E

I was just wondering, what brand of dubbin are you using there?
(It's just the first time I have seen it in a squeezy tube, the dubbin I've always used has come in a tin)

Made by KIWI, should be available everywhere - maybe a camping shop?
