Arkport - For A Reason

The five-piece outfit known as Arkport took its name from a town near the members' homes in upstate New York. The band fused guitar-driven alterna-rock and synthpop sounds with the angelic vocals of lead singer Erin Berkey to create a style comparable to a more upbeat Aleixa or Morella's Forest. Although the outfit disbanded in the early 2000's, brothers Jon and Jesse Pierce would subsequently form the far more successful synth-pop outfit Elkland. Doty would also found indie label Broken Factory Music and join Jon and several other musicians in qub3, but would leave before that outfit evolved into Goat Explosion and eventually, Elkland.
