Crowds gather to watch as young horses are bullied around a ring where two men on horseback chase the yearling, lasso it's neck and front legs, forcing it to fall to the ground. The damage done to the horse is physical and emotional.

@operationNOBO Well my 2 cents is that why this as an option to a slaughter house; either is a slow sadistic torture.....I would vote for a quick shot between the eyes as an option if there are none kinder available. This is making sport of a living creature, and unacceptable.

@buddymacs Most of these horses if not used for this would go onto being canners (to mexico and Canda for slaughter) They use the younger ones a few times a year for these events and when they grow up they are put into rodeos for bucking horses. Keep in mind, they live in wide open spaes 340 days a year living as horses should. They get brought to town the rest. What's worse, this, or horses actually truly being abused left hungry by their owners and kept in inhumane conditions?

Yes, but do they really need to get the horse running full speed then trip it? This "sport" is completely unnecessary and dangerous. It ruins many good young horses, both physically and mentally.

And yes, I am good with horses and actually own 2.

You people who disagree with this are just typical, that makes me sick. 90 percent of you probably aren't good with horses, I mean 98 percent. If you would look at this event and it's rules, any mistreatment, such as a horse being flipped the team is disqualified. The Senate bill that didn't pass included cowboys not being able to rope horses, ever. You NEED a rope to work with horses, for branding, gelding, and training. Educate yourself on reality.
