Dharavi is in the middle of the city and home to more than half a million people. And this is where architect Mukesh Metha wants to put his 'Masterplan' into practice. He wants to clear the slum and turn it into a place fit to live. International construction companies are already lining up to take part in the development, but what about Dharavi's inhabitants?

  • Oh, this is where those kids lived in the movie, "Slumdog Millionaire." Those kid actors are real living poor Indian people just the same as in the movie who actually live there.

By developing this area into a place for the rich fit to live in, the poor will only be forced to build another ghetto somewhere else unless the new development includes jobs, training, education, and resources to make good use of these poor people while helping them by integrating them into the project.

  • Interesting Idea.

  • I think 400 euros is good money if you live in India. The minimal net wage in Czech Republic is like 350.
