On my 22nd Birthday, I was able to get a cab ride in Respondek GP10 #1800, a unit that has so far spent most of its life in Alaska, but spent the past 10 years in the Missouri/Illinois areas.

The girl shown is my Fience, Saveria. This was her first cab ride and you can tell, with the excitment in her voice. She is a cancer survivor, beating it twice. The 2nd time, she lost her left arm and shoulder.

PLEASE NOTE...SAVERIA PASSED AWAY ON NOV. 4TH 2008 OF PNEUMONIA
NOTE: This unit was used in the Movie "Runaway Train" starring Jon Voight. Just think, I am in the cab of a locomotive that was occupied by one of the Film industries respected stars! Unit is the 3rd unit in the runaway locomotive consist

  • but the 3 and 4th unit in the movie were high hood engines.

  • They were fake short hoods added by the movie company, if you look closely, they reach the cab roof, not Factory original.
