Respondek Cab Ride, GP10 #1800

On my 22nd Birthday, I was able to get a cab ride in Respondek GP10 #1800, a unit that has so far spent most of its life in Alaska, but spent the past 10 years in the Missouri/Illinois areas.

The girl shown is my Fience, Saveria. This was her first cab ride and you can tell, with the excitment in her voice. She is a cancer survivor, beating it twice. The 2nd time, she lost her left arm and shoulder.

NOTE: This unit was used in the Movie "Runaway Train" starring Jon Voight. Just think, I am in the cab of a locomotive that was occupied by one of the Film industries respected stars! Unit is the 3rd unit in the runaway locomotive consist

but the 3 and 4th unit in the movie were high hood engines.

They were fake short hoods added by the movie company, if you look closely, they reach the cab roof, not Factory original.

Curt, a GP10 is just a rebuilt GP9.

Never seen a GP10 before, but we have many GP9's in Manitoba
