That passage is not in support of slavery. People sold themselves and relatives in order to clear debt and have food and shelter. This passage is to the owners, that if they had slaves, treat them well.

hi Alison, i got asked (or told really) by a company that i tried to work for (TWICE!!!) that they were a "christian organization" despite the fact that their business was nothing of the sort - should i of called 9-11? or looked for another job because i didn't leap from my seat singing "Jesus Jesus Jesus?" <-- what do you REALLY think happened in the end?
