Mobile production and broadcasting has reached new levels of portability and practicality with the combination of several leading technologies. With HD cameras and wifi antennas on the iPhone and iPod touch you can shoot and immediately upload video. Before the Owle Bubo that video may not have been broadcast ready for reasons including camera shake and lens limitations. Once these mobile devices are inserted into the Bubo frame the wide angle and macro lenses give great potential to the video. Additional lenses of various focal lengths can be added with the with Canon ground glass adaptor. Add a stackable light with a hot shoe and put a cherry on top with a shotgun mic. Mount this bite size studio on a monopod, Steadipod or tripod to stabilize your shots and add then add motion with a light jib or slider.
Edit right on the iOS device with the robust 1stVideo non-destructive editor with several tracks for audio and video.
When you've finished, broadcast directly to networks that are looking for video through VeriCorder's site findstringers.com
All this adds up to the most disruptive (in a good way) paring of technologies I have encountered. I've invested a great deal of my time at the 2011 NAB Show researching it's potential so you can benefit from these game changers.
The production of this clip (all on my iPhone 4) went surprisingly well and, as a Final Cut Pro certified editor, I was impressed with the tool set the 1StVideo NLE provides.
