Some neat things to watch out for are the animals that come to check out the goats, UFOs, feeding habits, seeing a mineral block being consumed before your very eyes, flooding rain, high winds, snow and how goats take care of vegetation around trees as I expand their pen over time to make sure each goat had in excess of 256 square feet of pen space.
Background:
While living in Texas my wife and I started a herd of Nigerian Dwarf Dairy Goats. It was a lot of fun even though we never got a chance to put them into production before we moved and had to sell them.
The video is from a camera I setup that would take a picture every minute and upload it to the webcam viewer we had setup on goatsofminicolors.com. Goats of Mini Colors was the name of our herd. It's a reference to the coat of many colors from the Bible (Genesis 37:3) and that fact that Nigerian Dwarf goats have a rather unpredictable coat color pattern, and, of course, they are minis. :-)
We have since let the domain slip back into the open market since we sold our goats and have collected the stills from the webcam to create a video in memory of that personality packed herd.
For you guys interested in the technical information. The video contains 33,765 still images at 640x480 resolution, taken at one minute intervals. To keep the video under 15 minutes, as per youtube, the video displays 50 still images every second. Due to the unpredictable nature of our DSL connection at the time, we lived out in the boonies and were lucky to have DSL at all, there are many gaps in the timeline. However, if my calculations are correct, there should be over 562 hours of just daylight footage that spans more than one year.
I removed all the night stills as they were just black, save for a few interesting ones where we caught some UFOs red handed. Okay, they're actually planes from Dyess Air Force Base, but they could be top secret experimental ones! The camera was very poor at night so the lights in the night sky must have been very bright to have been picked up on it. We saw some very weird things in the sky around that air base. From very slow moving and low flying triangular shaped aircraft that would rattle dishes onto the floor to even on one occasion we witnessed two silent green explosions that radiated green light beams high into the sky and was visible to us over 10 miles from the base.
