Lyrics: When in the springtime of the year
When the trees are crowned with leaves
When the ash and oak, and the birch and yew
Are dressed in ribbons fair
When owls call the breathless moon
In the blue veil of the night
The shadows of the trees appear
Amidst the lantern light
We've been rambling all the night
And some time of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay
Who will go down to those shady groves
And summon the shadows there
And tie a ribbon on those sheltering arms
In the springtime of the year
The songs of birds seem to fill the wood
That when the fiddler plays
All their voices can be heard
Long past their woodland days
We've been rambling all the night
And some time of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay
And so they linked their hands and danced
Round in circles and in rows
And so the journey of the night descends
When all the shades are gone
"A garland gay we bring you here
And at your door we stand
It is a sprout well budded out
The work of Our Lord's hand"
We've been rambling all the night
And some time of this day
Now returning back again
we bring a garland gay

  • @dwolfspirit1 Thanks. Unfortunatelly I live in a city, far away from nature, so I don't have many chances of having contact with such animals.

  • stupenda danza...

  • @dwolfspirit1 You are so perceptive ,I have always been fascinated by the North American indian cultures and their close association with nature may they live on forever !

  • This video evokes the kind of emotions that take me away to a more gentle time..........

  • @TheNzfroggy I think you will find the correct title is "THE MUMMERS' DANCE." Yes, it's in all caps on the CD. You need correct punctuation to make the title correct! Check it out on her "the book of secrets" CD. Why be so hypercritical? It's a beautiful song no matter what it's called. "A rose by any other name..." etc.

  • At 3:20 I see pure joy, happiness and love. At 3:57 I see a poor soul who appears to be searching in vain for a mate who may be lost forever. Such a beautiful video of such beautiful creatures set to such a beautiful song.

  • A friend sent this to me as I recently lost my beloved wolf companion Shadow Wisdom of 15 and 1/2 years. A beautiful song and video reminding me of our amazing journey on the path least traveled. Shadow was my joy and now I have my trail of tears...

  • this is an outstanding video and loreena's music makes it perfect.

  • This is just beautiful, I love this song and these wolves are a beautiful animal and spirit, thank you.,
