Well, Samus lost the Hyper Beam after the explosion of Zebes. So it likely doesn't have access to it anymore...

What makes less sense with the SA-X is why it doesn't use the hyper beam it has. That thing can one shot the friggan Crocomire, it would certainly hurt Samus more than the freeze-missile combo it uses.

Once, you've got the Yellow Doors open, you can go into the room, then go through a passable block on the bottom-left of the square. I do it in a later vid, so you'll seen then. ^^
