I was attacked once by a group of thugs with knives. I gave them my stuff and left quickly. Best self defense method I've found so far!

That's a true story- but on a more serious note, knife attacks are probably more of a threat in the UK than in the US since all the thugs over here have guns. I'm interested to see this.

well you have been lucky as most people that do muggings these days take the spoils then hit people anyway,i would say watch your surroundings more to avoid being in a place to be mugged is the best defense

I have seen many demos of so called knife attacks but im afraid they are as it says demos and is nothing like a frenzied attack,Even guys teaching knife defence when laying in bed will have doubt about surviving a real attack

ps can you do close range firearms too!? this is becoming more of a problem in london as is the knife attacks

my mate from taekwondo had some pull a knife on him little did thay no he was a 3rd dan. he turned around and turing kicked him in the side of the head droped him like a sack of shit

Statistics?

Unarmed against a knife, unless the guy's a chump - the odds are appalling. Almost anything is preferable to facing a knife held by someone who knows how to use it.

Lucky thing is, if you see the weapon, they probably want something apart from your life. If they just want to kill you, you won't see it coming.

i just dont understand why people with knifes use them to slash and not stab... cause its harder to block a slash in my opinion... its a sweeping action, harder to block

I was in Argentina at the time. It doesn't really matter where you go there, somebody's just waiting to mug you. It's almost inevitable. Your right, though, I was lucky, a friend of mine was shot and killed there just a few months previously.
