I slowly let my engine rev through the whole RPM range. You can hear the iVTEC switchover point at 6,000 RPM.

  • Ayyyyy mang This video sucks. Needs more sound.

  • @lovesthebass Yes there is you bellend. The euro 2.0 (K20A7) ivtec kicks in at 4500 rpm and the 2.4 (K24A4) that you find in the US and europe kicks in at 6000 rpm.

You are half right as i-vtec is variable but the valves are on full chat at a set rpm just not as prominent as in the older traditional Vtec engines because they are tuned for ecomomy rather than outright performance. You dont get a kick like in a H22A for example.

  • weak ..! c'mon ..!! my 5 speed tsx sounds way meaner than that ..! i still needa race a 6 speed tsx to show em that automatic always clowns on manual.. and you forgot to turn off ur vsa .. quit making us acuras look bad dumbass ..

  • poor car

  • @lovesthebass funny how my "i-vtec" 08 si always seems to coincidentally hit vtec at 6,000

  • @lovesthebass yes there is. This car is like 6k, i think he is right. RSX type s and civic si's both have iVTEC...and there is a crossover point at 5800. there is 2 versions of iVTEC. You're thinking of the economy version found in accords and crv's and what not. You are right about the "constantly varying" but its constantly varying cam adv/ret, not profile. The actuator on the intake cam gear controls advancement and retardation of the timing which is on both versions of iVTEC

  • This video sucks, ripoff!!

  • wow thats really quiet

  • i would hate to have to wait for my car to have power

  • your navi makes more noise than your vtec

  • @acteuro03 Didn't mean to wreck your whole day like that, sir.
