KOFXIII - Drive Cancel & Hyper Drive Mode Tutorial

A quick tutorial on how to perform a Drive Cancel and how to use the Hyper Drive Mode in the King of Fighters XIII for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

People have been asking me questions on how to use these new mechanics in the King of Fighters XIII so I decided to just make a little tutorial video with my own personal explanations. Other interesting things such as advanced techniques and other tricks will be explained and shown in a future video. After all, I'm here to teach you guys how to play some goddamn KOF!

Is an arcade stick almost mandatory to be good at this game?

@XiPepsiX You can use a regular game pad if you'd like. But with a fast-paced and execution-heavy fighting game like the King of Fighters XIII, I feel like it'd be tough to handle on a controller. Then again, with much practice, it's probably do-able.

@awesomemcrad Yeah I actually intended on making him the Joker, lol. Wait until you see my other custom character edits. I've done so many color edits, it's ridiculous. I'll have to make an entire video showcasing the customization I've done so far.

I just have the problem of timing and cancelling the wrong moves. I can't seem to get it on my whim, it just happens. Any tips? I guess just practise is the only answer, but I'm guessing when I first land that hit of my first special but the time that happens I should be hitting the command attack button, just seems so simple but I can't do it.

No one uses this thing. We use the Xbox or PlayStation. Controller. What the hell are you using.

can pls somebody tell me how this works? i don't know how to cancel a special move. I know how to cancel in SF a normal into a special, this is no prob for me. In Kof it doesn't work, also I notice that in the insturction there ist this "D" in the combo, i think for drive cancel, but is this a mode that hast to be activated before or during the move? Pls help, this game is freakin me out
