Got vinyl records, but no record player?
Try this activity to get into the groove.
By using a pin, paper and a pencil you can make a simple record player that actually works!
CAUTION...this activity might ruin your albums for future hi-fidelity use.
Records contain analog sounds encoded and etched into their vinyl. A needle or pin placed in the groove of a spinning record will vibrate due to the bumps and curves it encounters as the disc moves beneath it. Paper shaped into a cone can act as a sounding board for the pin. You can hear the sounds on the album as you turn it!!!
