My first solo flying a Cessna 172 in Wadsworth, OH (3G3). I executed 3 landings and they were a little bit bouncy....UGH. I'll just have to keep practicing. Enjoy!!

  • Thanks for all the comments on this video. It's been a while since my first solo, and since then I've done a lot of flying and bought my own airplane. It's only a Cessna 150, buts it's a blast to fly......

  • shut the hell up you arrogant prick. everyone has to learn.

good landings, stick with the flight training, you will only get better

  • Brought tears to my eyes. Good times! You never forget such moments. It really took me back. The first 50 hours or so I could have done touch and go's all day. I literally didn't want to take my hands off the yoke.

And to the ersatz left-seaters out there, this fellow knows something you don't. Because in that moment when you realize that the weight of plane and pilot is borne not by the wheels but by the wings, you know for sure.. you're an aviator.

Oh and everyone floats in ground effect :)

  • Skippy!!

  • cant wait to do mine!!

  • i did my first solo in a 152 and i did not better.

  • Nice one! My first solo landing was on a runway 45m wide, or about double the Wadsworth one. Incredibly there were a few students at that school notorious for repeated go-rounds on account of them still managing to miss it :)

  • Hi Fellow Pilots, I've started a Facebook page for Pilots and Student Pilots. Come and join, just search for 'Pilots Page' on Facebook and add as a friend. See you there!

  • wow i just realised that i commented on this vid two months ago when i only had about 15 hours now i have nearly a hundred haha, still a rookie though, and i must say those were some awesome bounces but even better recoveries!

  • You did a good job at 3:42!

  • hey, a good landing is not how smooth you touch down, but if you actually make it on the ground safely, just because your landing's aren't perfect doesn't mean there bad. I know this video is old and I'm sure you as a pilot have improved greatly, but for any new pilots, keep this in mind ^. Great job on the solo!

  • i did my first solo the other day there is truly no better feeling! but fuck me it was scary lol
