  • i notice the strings are not doubled. I can imagine your instrument being allot easier to play because of this.

  • @bigmuso123

yeah, allot lot... ;) next time I'll put three of them so it's gonna be much more difficult. But actually I was already thinking to switch to the violin, with only 4 strings it must be a lot easier then mine...Seriously: are you kidding? :)

  • modern lute's fret is steel?

i read that lute is gut fret

  • @kuromomo00 I used gut frets

  • I really enjoyed all your 998 videos. 5 stars! What tuning are you using?

  • @Mod74 a normal so called renaissance lute tuning in a. Bach's music is not related to a tuning - like i.e. Weiss's music - so it is not stylistic relevant which one you use

  • I'm glad you like it! .the problem of "being authentic" is pretty complicated, here just a few lines:

You shoundn't make the mistake (as many do) of considering the authenticity of the instrument as relevant, forgetting what the word itself - "instrument" - means: something we use to reach a goal - and not the goal itself (when you eat you don't enjoy the fork, don't you? You serch for the cutlery which is more suitable to your meal, but you still enjoy the food...).

    It's a matter of style.

  • You, sir, are an incredible lute player. One I could only dream of matching with my basic six string guitar. The thought of having the capability of handling so many strings gives me the chills. I commend you.

  • Grandissima interpretazione di questo capolavoro totale!

    I miei complimenti...

  • I also play single strung lute. After Falckenhagen, I think it is possible that lute and theorbo were single-strung for clarity, affekt, and ease of retuning for key changes. There were, what, 10 or 15 professional lute players in the world then. They, mostly, made their money accompanying opera singers. You can play louder, with more control, on a single string. I use rest-stroke on long appogiaturas sometimes. I just bet they did too. This isn't french lute anymore...

  • doesnt get better than this! excellent.

  • @5stringofFernandoSor Surely, if we are at the very least to fabricate a purpose, then that purpose is to enlighten ourselves; or what use is there to live with no more than the purpose of animals, who couldn't hope to? And what better way to enlighten ourselves than through such music!

  • 4:32 Mmmm... very graceful cadence.

  • Commovente..

  • Perfect! .. just perfect.

  • When is your Bach series available on iTune? I really enjoy your music even after listened hundreds of times:)
