That's one very well set up MX5, looks like huge fun and you've cured it's Achilles heel, (torque) V nice! No bigger brakes just performance pads? I suppose you don't need them in a car that weighs around 1 tonne. Oh, sound great too.

people need to realise that most people at track days just want to drive around the track,its not a race the only people racing are ones in low end vehicles that think they got to prove that there piece of shit can keep up with the faster and better cars.your notice it on the roads your get a fiesta sitting on the assend of a ferrari thinking they are cool and the dude in the ferrari wants them gone

@jberry813 word. They musta been intimidated by your enthusiasm. Looks like fun

My dad owns a 964 RS and I have a MX-5 (Miata) NB and we both prefer the Mazda for a track day. The RS is a great weapon but on the limit it will either kill you, ruin your pants or leave you with a huge repair bill. The fun to be had in a MX-5 is unmatchable, I haven't gotten past any Porsches yet but in the bends anything else will get flogged!

This is what happens when a typical Porsche driver meets the typical Miata driver at the track.

Ahhh the miata, its the 250 of the car world. Simple, light, and with a good driver can really fly.
I think I see some boost guages or something. Not stock power I assume?

@bosneb Jackson Racing supercharger.

@jberry813 So how much power is that putting down? Cause you make those Porsches look quite wimpy and I would figure the average 911 would still have a healthy amount more power than a supercharged NB motor.

@bosneb Full specs are 1999 Miata. JR MP45 supercharger (the smaller one) with reduced nose pulley boosting 6.5 PSI, Racing Beat headers, custom muffler setup, Flyin Miata springs, KYB adjustable shocks, Hawk blue brake pads up front and black in the rear. Never had it on a dyno but similar setups are putting down 160-170 hp.

Are those other cars sightseeing? You seem to overtake them so easily.

Yeah didn't you know? Laguna Seca is known for its lovely vistas and views. Perhaps they were staring at the squirrels running up the trees? LOL
