  • The locals "Discovered" by Columbus were mistakenly believed by him to be from the country of India, hence the "naming" of the indiginous peoples as "Indians". "Indian" activist groups are trying to get away from the very word, as one of their issues, for just that reason.

    Just a note, in the chatrooms that "speak" the text, they type in N D N, and the machines say "Indian."

  • Those born here, and their ancestral families that failed to enforce immigration back in 1492, are also known as the "First Nations". Nobody asked Columbus to "discover" them.

  • Not Native American...We are Anahuac! we are Nican Tlaca!

  • Native american?? WTF?? Whites are Euro American? Blacks  are Afro americans? Why not just Americans??
