the 3 inch wacky senko is probably my best lure for any fish

I know your pain buddy. This will be the third time I am fishing at a small mouth hatchery this year out of my canoe, still not a bite. I must be doing something wrong...

Are fish usually shallow in pre spawn as well as spawn?
bassnager 1 year ago
@bassnager Smallmouth bass are on points in current durring pre-spawn, but near spwning areas. As it gets near the spawn the bass make there move to shallow 1-6 feet of water and out of current for the spawn for the most part. Places to look for are bays or ponds fed by culverts from the river. Bass will swim thru culverts over 100 feet long to get into warmer backwater areas. So in prespawn I find lots of smallies in 15 to 4 feet of water but just before the spawn I find them in 2-6 feet deep.

I will do a video of the kind of places I catch smallmouth bass in rivers. within the next two weeks. Current is the key. Try fishing points with current. Look for current seams down stream of the point. Fish the seams. Good luck! Roger
