Are you extracting algae or the oil from the algae? What is this process called? Does it require chemicals?

@enticed2zeitgeist This is a process called a Soxhlet extraction, it uses chemicals, in this case I was using petroleum solvents but you can use others.

@JimtheEvo Thank you for the speedy answer. So this is pulling oil out of algae? Isn't the concept of using petrol by-products to produce petrol kind of redundant?

@enticed2zeitgeist Your quite right it seems redundant, but the petroleum used is not lost and in the case I was just trying to see how much oil was in the algae.
