Margaret and her project horse 10 2010.AVI

Margaret is one of the caregivers at Horse Haven. Every caregiver has a project horse that they choose to work with one on one. This is Margaret's project horse, a 15 year old quarterhorse mare.

This mare was the companion to another horse that the owner would ride. She was there for the horse, not to be a people companion so every six months or so, cowboys would come in, rope and tie her, and she would be sedated to have her hooves trimmed and routine medical work done. Rather than try to reach her, it was easier to simply subdue her. Margaret is changing all that as you can see. I am sorry the audio is so bad.
