  • why cant we just have the nationwide

    regulars racing by themselves

    anymoe.

  • because that would mean a loss of millions and millions of sponsorship dollars that cup drivers bring to the series, like biffle, busch, edwards, vickers and others. not to mention that would knock out nearly half the field. if you take out the cup drivers you wipe out the series alltogether. and besided drivers from other series have always raced in the nationwide series. its just more frequent nowadays.

  • was this the turbo-v6 era of busch racing?

  • it sure was.

  • I love hearing those V6 motors buzzing! As a small child coming of TV watching age during this time period, I loved watching these short track Busch races when they came on...NASCAR would be so much better now if they took a look at the past- this kind of racing is way better than anything on a 1.5 mile tri-oval

  • Always enjoy re-watching the great racing near the conclusion of this race. Also, found the song that was used at the beginning of this broadcast. It's called Technology Shower and is part of the Bruton Production Music Library if anyone was wondering.

  • Ron Williams?! I guess Rick Benjamin had a stage name lol. Is that Neil Bonnett co-announcing or someone else? I loved the V6 engines and different body styles in Busch/Nationwide. At least it wasn't a complete overkill by Cup teams at that time.

Independent teams had a chance back then because the series were so different. It would take NASCAR looking at Trucks&NW and possibly coming up with a new formula for a Triple AAA series for the current situation to change.

  • WoW look how close Ward Burton is 4:00 to people in the infield. Wish racing was still this way

  • @jrfan07 because the series has grown too expensive for Nationwide teams because of Cup drivers driving for Cup teams and stealing Nationwide sponsors. Leave Fontana, Chicago, etc. behind, add more short tracks, reduce the schedule to 30 races. Costs will decrease with less aero tracks, smaller teams and local drivers would no longer be afraid to compete in a higher series and replenish the hole left by Cup drivers. I don't know why it's so difficult for NASCAR to understand.

  • do u have this whole race on video and can i buy a copy?

  • They need to bring the Nationwide Series back here!
