Here are four (4) ABC Network promos for the third season (1966-67) of "Bewitched. The first two highlight baby Tabatha's new-found powers, and the fact that the show is now IN COLOR!! The third features Elizabeth Montgomery, Judy Carne and Marlo Thomas promoting ABC's "Second Season". After the abrupt cancellation of "The Tammy Grimes Show" (only three (3) episodes aired), which preceded "Bewitched" on Thursday nights, the schedule was re-vamped and "Bewitched" was moved from 9:00pm to 8:30pm, followed by "Love On a Rooftop" and "That Girl". The fourth is a black and white version of a color promo which aired later in the season with clips from various episodes.

  • The "Second Season" comment by Marlo always befuddled me. Bewitched was already in it's third year, and ABC as a whole had been around a lot longer than just 2 years. Hmmm.

  • They were actually referring to the schedule change, which they were referring to as "ABC's Second Season". It actually had nothing to do with which season each show was in, or how long ABC had been around. It confused me at first as well.

  • I always flet a kinship with Tabitha as I made my debut in the Fall of 1965 as well! Maybe we were separated at birth and Samantha is really my mother!

  • ABC introduced the gimmick of "The Second Season" in January 1966, and it worked well enough for them to "reuse" it for several seasons afterwards. In the case of their mid-season [1967] Thursday night schedule, it somewhat succeeded: the following fall, "BEWITCHED" stayed right where it was; "THAT GIRL" moved up a half-hour to 9, while "LOVE ON A ROOFTOP" was cancelled at the end of its only season. Gerald Mohr is the voice featured in the last two promos...

  • i have the comic books :)

  • That's neat !

  • really cool promos

  • Perhaps the copy writer had too many martinis, or was under a "pregnancy symptoms" spell and was thinking of pickles, or maybe they were under a "everyone loves everything I do" spell and thought his script was spectacular.

Man, someone should write a show with those ideas. ;-)
