My new G251 Gecko Drives. (Baby Geckos) I got this rotary table from a friend. It was used in conjunction with a robotic arm for educational purposes. The motor is a 75oz-in stepper motor wired for bipolar parallel running at 1 Amp 44 Volts. To give reference to the size of the drive, the disc on the rotary table is 9 inches in diameter. They are Tiny! Signal source is Mach3. 1 rev of the disk is equal to 1 inch of movement. Timing belt reduction from stepper to output shaft is 6.1111111 (110:18)

Movement starts at 10 revs a minute increments up to 200 revs a minute.

  • can't believe that it didn't stall...how does it do under load?

  • are there any good tutorials on gecko drivers for no0bies? i've got this hunk of metal with 3 stepper motors attached to it. I take it that I'd need one of these G251 devices for each motor? could i control 3 of these with a serial port + labview, or do i need something else?

  • I've always liked Gecko drives - great product :)
